Kuube smart benches were featured by Yanko Design as a new type of city hub, bringing free internet access, device charging and environmental information directly into public spaces. Powered by integrated solar panels, the benches can provide these digital services independently while creating a comfortable meeting and resting point for residents and visitors.

The Kuube NANO, designed for up to four people, combines a Wi-Fi hotspot with two USB ports, two wireless Qi chargers and a display showing real-time information about weather conditions, air quality and UV levels. The larger Kuube PLUS accommodates up to eight people and can function as a modern urban meeting point, while the compact Kuube ECO provides seating for three.

The solar benches were designed with sustainability in mind beyond their renewable energy supply. Their construction uses recyclable aluminium, tempered safety glass and ash wood, combining durable materials with contemporary public-space design.

Yanko Design also highlighted the broader role of Kuube outdoor smart furniture in sustainable urban environments. By combining solar energy, connectivity and useful digital services, smartbenches can support the development of smart cities and complement emerging urban solutions such as bikes and electric scooters. The concept demonstrates how everyday street furniture can become part of a more connected and sustainable urban infrastructure.
